In this work, a study on the petroleum allocation at PETROBRAS is presented, focusing in the development of mathematical programming models to assist the specialist in the accomplishment of this task.
Despite being a common problem of vertically integrated oil companies, no reference can be found in the literature of models to tackle this problem in its entire range. In this study, differently of the found ones in literature, we propose a model for dealing with the overall problem, i.e. the maritime problem as well as the refineries planning is tackled by a unique model.
Throughout this work a description of the development of the model is presented, showing the effort spent in its adequacy to the real problem and alço in the addition and reformulation of some restrictions aimed at tightening the formulation in view of the polyhedral theory of integer programming.
As the model does not prove itself efficient for the solution to the real problem, it was proposed a heuristic combined with a new local search procedure by optimization that guarantees the attainment of viable solutions of good quality for the real instances, in acceptable computational time.
